I was born and raised in Colombia, South America, with a B.A. Business Economics from the Universite de Droit, d’Economie et Sciences Sociales de Paris-Paris France, moved to Canada in 2003 and studied jewellery at Ecole de Joaillerie de Montreal, Montreal.
I’m living in Toronto since 2013, I joined Jewel Envy and create my own jewellery companies h.p.lafaurie and joy.h.l.lafaurie
I design and make limited edition jewellery collections for my personal business as well as custom pieces for costumers than bring their ideas and find in my work and design the way to express them.
All jewelers and designers deal with patters, forms, colors, but every one of us brings our passion through our work.
The simple and ordinary things give inspiration to me and over the years my head and my spirit are full with the most extraordinary richest of all, creativity. Every day I fell I have accomplished something that is very important not only for me but for the people that love my work, and I slow down and appreciate what I have done. The transformation of materials into wonderful things is limited only by our imagination.I feel very lucky to work doing something, that I love so much to do!

Helena Perez Lafaurie’s new work
January is a quiet time for goldsmiths. The Christmas rush is over and Valentine’s Day seems a long way off. But don’t let our quietness fool you. Like so many things in winter we are working quietly away in the dark and cold ready to spring forth with new growth.
One such goldsmith is Helena Pérez Lafaurie. She has spent January working on new pieces for her eponymous jewellery line. Like many of us Helena can’t keep her mind off of the warmth and sun of Spring and this can be seen in her new work called, of course, “Spring.”
The line was inspired by the agate stones seen in both the necklace and bracelet, “The agate looks like blossoms to me, I miss the spring so much, the flowers, the sun…,”she trails off, misty eyed. Between you and me, I think the line is inspired by her soon-to-be-born first grandson!
Helena’s second set of new pieces is called “Charms.” As all of us at Jewel Envy can testify, Helena LOVES little things that shine and make noises.
When Helena is in the studio, her ever-present stacked silver bracelets are in constant movement and making sound much like this new necklace and bracelet will when worn—they are sure to attract the attention of the new grandson!
